Hui Lim
Hui’s warm, patient approach gives students room to ask questions, build confidence, and enjoy making music. Whether a student is finding their first notes or preparing for an audition, she makes progress feel approachable, one thoughtful step at a time.
She has taught with First Note Strings at the Alabama School of Fine Arts and served as a teaching assistant to Eliot Chapo, former concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic, and Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio.
Hui has adjudicated several youth violin competitions in Nevada and Arizona. Her students have gained admission to youth orchestras and won top prizes at competitions—achievements built on careful preparation and individual encouragement.
Hui was awarded Second Prize and was the sole prizewinner in the Violin (Open) category of Singapore’s 2003 National Piano and Violin Competition.
A tenured violinist with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, she has also performed with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and the Phoenix Symphony. Hui holds a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music and a Master of Music from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.
